Linux Server Guides: Ubuntu, SSH, systemd
The Linux section is for people who look after servers: a single VPS, a home lab or a fleet of cloud machines. We concentrate on Ubuntu and Debian because they run most of the servers our readers manage, and we write each guide so that you can follow it over SSH without a desktop, copy the commands safely and check the result before moving on.
Typical guides cover release upgrades, package and kernel updates, systemd services and timers, disks and file systems, networking, users and SSH access, and the error messages that show up after an update. Each guide states which versions it was checked on and when, because a command that worked on one release can behave differently on the next.
Where a task touches security, such as SSH configuration or firewall rules, we link to the Security section for the hardening details. Where it touches containers or automation, the Docker and DevOps sections pick up from here. Start with the latest posts below or use the topic list to see what this section covers.
